Schools from across Hull and the East Riding joined a great 2-day live event supported by writers and narrative designers from the games industry. Held at the fantastic campus of the University of Hull, students had a great couple of days (as did the teachers!)

At From Player to Page, our mission is to provide high-quality educational services to students of all ages. We believe that education is the key to success, and we strive to help our students achieve their full potential.

Held at the beautiful University of Hull campus, students were invited to a gaming event in the Leslie Downs conference and lecture theatre, before joining their group writers in the Wilberforce seminar rooms where they completed their creative pieces.
From Player to Page was supported this year by 6 fantastic writers and games industry experts. Luke Hebblethwaite - former Head of Games, Bafta - delivered a creative careers talk for teachers and staff from schools, after which lead Narrative Designers Ayesha Khan and Sagar Beroshi alongside Founder of studio Party for Introverts Arseniy Klishin, delivered a panel talk about literacy and storytelling in games.
Together with writer and games journalist Corey Brotherson, the writers led a set of Writer's Rooms that coached students in writing video game-inspired stories.
Students we able to ask the members of the industry any questions they liked at the careers panel for students.
The guests responded to any and all questions, ranging from 'How do I publish a game?' to 'What is your favourite Pokemon?' Their answers were honest and supportive, with all in attendance finding the session extremely rewarding.
We were lucky to have the involvement of Murray Lewis, writer of the Fall Guys seasons 1-4, and Mat Ombler from Laced Audio in Hull, on the second day of the event, with Mat joining the panel talk, proving a local perspective on working in the games industry.
